The first features the series protagonist, Derek Draco, returning to his hometown to search for a murderer. Lady Night expands upon the story that began in Amulet of Wishes and predominantly follows two threads. Much that previous entry, Lady Night features many familiar tropes-including vampires, lycanthropes and gargoyles-which the author has once again presented in an enjoyable and unique way. Rubin’s Chronicles of the Guardians series, Lady Night, offers both the comfort of a familiar world to those who enjoyed Amulet of Wishes, but also puts a new spin on the world of Aloseria, developing it further. I received an advance reader copy of Lady Night for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
